Let’s just talk about a baby’s first experiences in his or her new home. I love the beauty that exists in the quiet moments of mom and dad looking at their baby in a pure and un-touched way. The happiness that is revealed in this process is why I became a photographer and is what I try to capture in all my photos. I believe these are the moments that will be cherished for a lifetime and beyond — they are the moments I cherish most from my experience as a mother.
When I photograph newborns, I like to do it in a “real life way”. There are no origami-folded babies or over the top props. The real love shines through during times of interacting with the baby, going about daily activities and showing love and happiness in naturally beautiful ways. And that is what the Scheidegger family did with their precious baby boy.
